Initially the factory had a surface area of 16,385 m2, and when the second production line was opened, the area increased by 4,358 m2. The total area covered by the company’s headquarters and the factory of Mercator Medical (Thailand) Ltd. is 20,743 m2. The factory employs over 1,170 people, mainly the inhabitants of the region. The production capacity of both lines is more than 3 billion gloves per year. Part of the Mercator Medical Group
Mercator Medical is a valued and recognised European distributor of medical and protective gloves. Products manufactured by Mercator Medical (Thailand) Ltd. are channelled to the distribution network of the Mercator Medical Group. The Thailand factory is the first Polish investment in that country, which is constantly developing – not only in terms of the production scale, but also its range. All to meet the growing demand for single-use gloves.
The essential raw material used in the production of gloves.
Our factories have production lines manufacturing gloves of two main raw materials – nitrile and latex.
Nitrile, also known as acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), is a material composed of organic chemical compounds and an essential raw material used for the production of gloves.
- Nitrile gloves are latex-free, making them safe for people with allergies.
- Nitrile has very low levels of chemical vulcanisation accelerators, so gloves made of this raw material are much less likely to cause type IV allergies.
- Nitrile gloves are more durable than latex gloves.
Latex is manufactured from natural rubber which is extracted from rubber trees. In the morning, V-shaped incisions are made on the tree stems. Below these incisions, containers are placed to collect the milk. Latex is an entirely natural, biodegradable and environmentally friendly raw material.
- Proteins contained in latex may cause type I allergy – to minimise the risk of symptoms, some of the latex gloves manufactured by Mercator Medical Thailand are covered with a skin-safe polymer coating.
- Latex gloves are very flexible and fit comfortably on the hand.
History of the Thailand factory

Building the second gloves factory in Thailand (the investment worth PLN 117 M; the last production line completed in September 2018) allowed the company to increase its production capabilities by as much as 150%, up to 3 billion gloves annually. In 2022, the third, most modern and ecological factory of Mercator Medical was launched.
Thanks to continuous investment in plant modernisation and environmental protection, the factory can boast one of the most modern production lines in the region. The company is recognised worldwide and presents its assortment at the most important medical fairs.

Manufacturing process of nitrile gloves
Why do gloves from our factory stand out for their high quality? This is guaranteed by multi-stage production control.
Most nitrile gloves are manufactured in approximately the same way.
We strive to protect the environment every day. Our development strategy and the business model adopted rest on the basic premise: “we only have one planet, and its natural capital is limited, so we need to take care of it”. It is now necessary to develop a model of social and economic development that does not contribute to environmental degradation. We believe that it is our common task and we take responsibility for introducing green solutions.
